External contemplation for internal realization
In this workshop we will venture on an exploration of our physical surroundings in order to unearth the vastness that lies within our inner landscapes. Through this process, we can see where we may be projecting and seeking safety externally so that we can strip these faulty constructs and instead lay bare our basic needs and desires, to our naked selves. Our “things” can then transform from symbols of identity to instead serve us in the innate knowing of our wholeness - our objects become tools for connection. This union of space and self facilitates presence, personal embodiment, and the integration of our intentions into tangible (and tactile) practice.
We will dive into our relational history with our spaces and objects from childhood until now, with exercises and discussion. I will then guide the group in a visual meditation, which will reveal what is needed in waking life from the subconscious. From there, we will create practices that will become our home-work - rituals for self connection.
